A Little Quickie - The Sponsorship Deal [ edit | delete ]

Considering our goals for this season, and with our first Fundraiser of the year coming up in a week, it’s a good time I feel to go in-depth a little on this whole sponsorship deal we are working on.
Basically, if a player of ours (or prospective player even) goes out and finds a business who is interested in sponsoring us this year, well then, you have just created what we call a ‘contact’. What I do with contacts is do a normal follow up and then immediately try to ensure a face to face meeting. It works well, as last year we were able to secure both our major sponsors this way.
Now, I have had some people ask: What do we offer? That’s a great question. We offer, in general:
Website add space
Brochure add space
Game day program add space
Schedule card add space
Podcast add space
In addition, we can create Banners and even grant add space on our uniforms (as we did last year). We are also willing to work with new ideas.
To us, a $100 sponsorship is just as important as a $500 one. I want every one of our sponsors to be OVER compensated. I want repeat sponsors, I don’t want to yearly have to go out and secure new revenue. So spread the word, I will work overtime to make sure our prospective sponsor is blown away.
This season, we are going to try something new: If (IF!) we secure a sponsorship from one of our contacts, 15% of the total amount will be secured to the leads (you) player fee. It’s an incentive, and I feel a good one. If you send me a contact that eventually leads to $100, then $15 comes off your fee. Simple. I have but one ask, do not send me 20 different bars…number 1, too many bard means too many different responsibilities. Number two, we don’t want to be a team full of bar ads and the like. Two or three bars? Cool. Anything more than that is overkill.
So go have fun…I’ll be waiting.

And here I thought I was untouchable :) It turns out I make mistakes..hmmm
In correcting the recent 'Turning the Corner' article, the Rage have indeed had a Twitter account since they became a franchise, which was a full season before we came into existence, so I was wrong in that aspect. But hey, Second aint bad!
In addition, I went a little batty and ripped off to the Lynx a few days ago, in which they humbled me with thier uber staggering 544,000 web hits since Jan 1st, 2010...so in essence, we are upstart, they are royalty.
Just gives me another reason to go crazy around here. Be warned.
