GFL Playoffs: Premier 13, Cougars 12 Lynx 46, Cowboys 26 It will be #1 seed vs #3 seed in the Championship as the Premier were triumphant in a defensive struggle with the Cougars last night. The Cougars once again showed thier defense has the power to slow down anyone, yet, the offense could not keep up and the COugars will be left to wonder what might have been for another season. The Cowboys, on a tear the entire season in trying to put last season Championship loss behind them, will go home for a second season at the hands of the Lynx. IF there is any team playing better ball than the Lynx right now, they dont play in this league. The Championship now comes down to old establishment against new order as the Lynx are going for a three-peat while the Premier are trying to become the first expansion team to take the crown. Thier matchup this last season came down to a last second field goal, and I'm sure this next contest will be just a riveting.

GFL Playoffs:

Premier 21, Sabers 0

The Sabers have also forfeitted thier match in the GFL Playoffs due to being unable to field a team by the leagues mandate of re-playing thier game by Monday night. So far, it seems the Lynx-Nighthawks game will be played, stay tuned for results.

GFL Playoffs:

The Cowboys have defeated the Gladiators by the forfeit scoreof 21-0 following a rainout on Friday night. The Gladiators did indeed show up for thier game on the correct night, however, the rain killed any chance of playing the match, and the Gladiators failed to ensure a make-up date. By GFL rules, if a team is unable to play a make-up date, the game is then a forfeit.

 Alas; Cowboys 21 Gladiators 0

GFL Playoffs

The Cougars beat the Rage last night 26-7 to enter the second round.

The Cougars vicious defense seems to have dominated this contest, whilethe offense was able to put the game away. The Rage end the season 7-3 (0-1) and have a bright future in the still very weak American Conference, in which they were the only team out of 7 with a winning record. The Cougars will mount another title quest next week.

Hopefully I'll have more later, as it always takes the scores 1-2 days to even be reported...

After a wild night int he GFL, lets take a look around the league and announce how the seeds came out:

The Premier bested the Cowboys 28-20 to ensure that no GFL team will be undefeated this season. By winnint the Premeier caused a ripple effect around the league and claimed the #1 seed overall after a terrific season. The Cowboys took the #2 seed. The only way we will get to see a rematch is if these two teams make the Championship.

The Lynx bested the Nighthawks 42-20 in Janesville to claim the #3 seed. The Nighthawks ironically ended up with the #6 seed, and will now need to travel to Lake Shore to play the Lynx, only this time in a win and your done atmosphere.

The Cougars ripped the Gladiators 34-0 to claim the #4 seed and make the home playoff seeds a clean sweep for the National Conference. No American Conference team will host a playoff game in the first round. The Gladiators will take the #7 seed, even in loss, and play the Cowboys.

The Rage got back on track and roughed up the Sabers 41-21. The Rage will take the #5 seed into a very interesting matchup with the Cougars. The Sabers will take on the #1 seed Premier.

Outside of the playoff race, it appears the Desperados conceded to the Razorbacks, giving the Razorbacks a 4 win season, yet not enough to overcome any playoff teams.

Due to the Sabers loss last night to the Nighthawks, the South Milwaukee Rage have clinched the American Conference crown for the second straight season. The Rage are guarenteed a seed no lower than #6 in the playoffs. As of now, the Only way the Rage fall out of the #5 seed is if they lose to the Sabers, and the Nighthawks beat the Lynx.

The Sabers are to hold no seed higher than #7, with the possibility of falling to the #8 seed with a loss to the Rage, a Gladiators win and a few tiebreakers (Conference Record, points scored).
