Inside the Website - After Tryout Edition [ edit | delete ]

The Website has seen a few changes this past week, some major, some that you would barely notice. The reasoning for changing so much could simply be explained as a transition between the offseason and the beginning of our pre-season. This is very much true; however, some of the changes have been overdue, while others simply could not be done until the tryouts were finished.
These would include:
Finished Roster
All Player Pages
Induction of Season related material (Schedule, Overviews, Awards & Statistics)
Others, merely less noticeable would be the inclusion of our sponsors on our front page, as well as each sponsor getting a whole page just to themselves (including dates of events and other ways they have helped us). The Fee’s page, which used to house our expenses, has been fused with our donation and player fee PayPal features, helping us eliminate extra pages. The same was done with the About Us page, as it was fused with the contact us page.
The Wilmot area will stay, as will the updates about the Wilmot High School Athletics. Even though Wilmot chose not to host our games, we will continue on our promise of promoting the town in which we are associated with. The free page of endorsements to the towns businesses will as well stay intact.
The Message Board has been taken out of the public domain. It was meant to keep players, fans and the team as a whole together, yet not one post from an outsider has shown us it’s better to use it as a team tool; so it has been moved. The Guestbook has been shifted as well, to the Blogs page, in hopes that increased feedback may help us gain further support…or at least a couple more baseless assumptions on final scores for the season.
The GFL pulldown has been raised up, so as to promote our league. The GFL’s official website, gflmw.com is up and running now and is very nice. In keeping with this, our standings page as well as teams section now reflects the leagues logos of each team. I liked the helmets I had created, yet to be fair, the new logo’s are sharp, and I like them.
All in all, great effort was poured into not only showing off the new roster after the tryouts, yet to also make the site more traversable and easy to use. I think the changes do us well.
